How the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026 reels were produced
On 15 October 2026 an AI agent turned the broadcast of the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026 coronation night into 48 vertical reels, one swimsuit walk for each of the 37 delegates and 11 long gown walks, and began posting and scheduling them on four social platforms. This page lists each step, the checks that stop a clip or a post, and the decisions people made.

Source video: 4K copies as masters, the official broadcast as reference
The reels are cut from 4K, 60 frames per second copies of the broadcast segments published on YouTube by Tour PH (AV1, about 15 Mb/s; the picture is upscaled from the broadcast feed). The official full broadcast by FLM Creatives and Productions Inc is 1080p at 30 frames per second and 3.3 Mb/s, 6 hours 20 minutes long. It served as a reference only and was not uploaded to our channels, because the rights to republish it had not been confirmed.
Each caption credits the broadcast in text (Broadcast: Mutya ng Pilipinas), without a link.
Finding each delegate: text recognition on a low-resolution proxy
Each segment is first converted to a 960 × 540 proxy at 10 frames per second. Apple's Vision framework reads the on-screen text twice per second (fast mode; the accurate mode stalled on the processor), and the ffmpeg scene detector plus a frame-difference test mark hard cuts and dissolves.
The text found is matched against the list of 37 delegates, spelled as on the broadcast's name plates. In the swimsuit round every walk follows the same order: a name plate on the entrance arch, close-ups, a gold lower third at the front pose (the longest run of the name on screen), and the walk back. Where the automatic window was wrong, a hand-checked window replaced it. In the long gown round the name appears only on the backdrop header at the entrance and exit, and the lower third names the gown's designer, so each window is placed from the header and runs 32 seconds.
Framing: one 9:16 crop per shot, cut from the 4K master
Vision face and body detection runs on the proxy at 5 frames per second. For each shot the renderer cuts a 9:16 frame from the 4K master. The crop height is the detected body height divided by 1.2, so the delegate appears about 1.2 times closer than full height, limited to between 1,080 and 2,160 pixels; the face sits 27 percent from the top. Close-ups from the broadcast keep the full frame height. Scaling uses the Lanczos filter with light contrast-adaptive sharpening.
Colour: one ASC CDL grade per shot, with a frame-to-frame check
Every shot gets its own ASC CDL correction (slope, offset, power and saturation), computed from its frames: black and white levels per channel, a white balance that moves the measured face colour part of the way towards the skin-tone line, a power value for the target face brightness, and saturation. All values are capped, and the correction is reduced where it would clip. The "pageant" preset sets the targets: warm skin, rich colour, deep blacks.
Because the grade is constant within a shot, it cannot change from frame to frame inside that shot. A check compares every frame of the graded file with the expected result and measures the colour steps across four consecutive frames. In 47 of the 48 clips no frame exceeded the limit; one clip had a single frame over it.
Overlays and covers: event logo and name plate
The official Mutya ng Pilipinas logo sits top left, and a name plate gives the round, the delegate's name and the place she represents. In the long gown reels an opaque band below the plate covers the broadcast's designer caption. The cover is the frame with the largest frontal face, and among those the sharpest.

Checking every clip: a contact sheet at one frame per second
Before a clip can be posted, it is rendered as a contact sheet with one frame per second. A clip passes when it shows one delegate only and her name plate is complete. Where the previous or next delegate was in frame at the start or end, the clip was trimmed: 23 of the 48 clips were trimmed this way, and the untrimmed versions were kept. The posting loop waits until a clip is marked as cleared.

Captions in eight languages and platform-licensed music
Captions are generated in English, Filipino, Cebuano, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai, in neutral wording with no ranking and no flags. YouTube titles follow one pattern, for example "Swimsuit walk · Patricia Gail Dueñas · Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026 · San Juan City".
Music comes only from each platform's own licensed library, and a track is used only on the platform that licenses it: the TikTok library in the TikTok app, the Meta library in the Facebook composer, a Meta Sound Collection mix for Instagram, and a YouTube Audio Library mix for YouTube. Tracks rotate across the reels. The Shorts are also published on a second YouTube channel of Budots Media, BUDOTS BUDOTS, with two of Budots Media's own budots tracks instead of library music. Nine were published there on 15 October before the channel reached YouTube's daily upload limit; the rest publish daily from 16 October.
Posting: browser scripts that stop on any mismatch
Posting runs in a logged-in browser driven by scripts, one browser session per reel. Before the final click each script reads the form back and stops if anything differs: the account or page name, the title, the caption compared character for character, the scheduled date and time, the selected track, and on Instagram the preview length against the file length. The platform's own copyright check must report no issues (YouTube and TikTok: "No issues found"; Facebook and Instagram: "No copyright issues were found"). The publishing queue is marked only after the platform confirms.
Times are set in Philippine time. TikTok posts are hourly; Facebook, Instagram and YouTube use slots three hours apart, placed between the slots of the earlier Miss Asia Pacific International series. The titleholders and the three Cebu delegates are posted first.
Platform limits met during the run, and what was done
- TikTok: the content check sometimes stayed at "Checking in progress" longer than the script waits, and TikTok allows about 25 checks a day. The remaining TikTok uploads were set to run on 16 October.
- YouTube: Studio stopped accepting custom thumbnails after about 37 on 15 October (a daily limit). The uploads for reels 38 to 48 of the plan were set to run on 16 October.
- Instagram: the copyright check was sometimes still running when the script reached the share step. The script stopped, and a retry a few minutes later passed.
- Browser automation: the connection to the browser dropped once. The script logged the stop, and the loop was run again; it skipped every reel already recorded.
- Scripting: wait loops that searched the process list matched their own command lines and blocked each other. They were changed to wait for lines in log files.
What people decided and what ran unattended
Budots Media Philippines decided the sources and the rights question (the official full broadcast is not uploaded), the music policy, the framing rule (about 1.2 times closer than full height, the face never cut), the colour preset, the order and spacing of the posts, and the second YouTube outlet. Corrections during the day, such as the name spellings from the broadcast's name plates, came the same way.
The agent ran the rest without manual steps: proxies and text recognition, planning of the clip windows, tracking, cropping, grading, overlays, covers, captions, music mixes and the posting loops. Each contact sheet was reviewed before a clip was cleared, and hand-checked windows and trims were set where the automatic result was wrong.
